Ray A. Hendricks is an Austin, TX native and was married for 34 glorious years to one, Sandra Johnson Hendricks.  Our first lady, Sister Sandra Johnson Hendricks was called home to be with our Lord, December 2016 and is missed dearly.

He has three children, Darrick Hendricks, Deandrea (Robert) Blades, Desirae (Chauncey) Patterson. He also has 3 granddaughters, Alaijah Hargrove, Darriah Hendricks, and Heaven Patterson

 

Pastor Hendricks was a City of Austin Firefighter for 23 ½ years before he retired in 2003. 

 

He is active in the following endeavors:

∙ Former Peer Counselor for the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team

∙ Served on the first City of Austin Homeland Security Task Force after the 9-11 incident

∙ Chairman of the Austin Disproportionality Advisory Committee since 2006, as well as serving with the State Disproportionality Task Force

∙ Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer of the nonprofit corporation “Rebuilding Broken     Communities” forms in 2011

∙ Board of Directors for Texas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

 

In 2005, he was called to be the Pastor of the Rehoboth Baptist Church where he is the overseer of approximately 200 members where he leads, teaches, and offers guidance as well as encouragement to each member to not only live a well-rounded life, but to be a light for others as well.
